This is pretty far out there but earlier today I encountered a paladin in Alterac Valley who instantly teleported to the opposing faction’s base 10 seconds into the game. He proceeded to tell me exactly how…
Step 1: Have Rune of Recall – Item – World of Warcraft from before the Alterac Valley revamp.
Step 2: Faction change.
Step 3: Teleport to opposite faction’s base.
I do accept that it’s pretty far fetched that someone would still have this sitting around but evidently someone did.

So, death knight. You’re through with Outland. You just dinged 68 in Nagrand and want to move on to whiter, snow covered pastures. Maybe those pastures are in Northrend. Maybe those pastures are in Alterac Valley. Either way, let’s discuss getting through those final levels and pushing you through to the end game.
Gear
you may have decided to keep your starting gear because it looks so awesome, which is cool. However, once you hit Northrend, that gear’s going to start looking pretty weak. Luckily, you’ll have a wealth of quest gear to grab.
If you need a sum up of that, the basics are that Borean Tundra has a great blue 2-handed axe reward, so you should probably quest for that first. After that, Borean Tundra has more straight strength and critical strike rating on its gear, while Howling Fjord has more haste and armor penetration. You can probably level up in either pretty safely, though I went with Howling Fjord simply because I enjoyed the story lines there more. Haste turns out to be good for Unholy, and Armor Penetration for Blood, so the gear there is actually a bit better than it might first appear to the untrained eye.
Once you’ve kitted yourself out in the basic gear, you should be able to get to level 80 relatively easy, grabbing minor upgrades you go. We’d be here all day if I went over every zone, but there are a few things I can recommend you focus on:
- First, do the Wrathgate quest line in Dragonblight. By the time it’s over, you’ll have a few new blue upgrades a nice trinket in addition to having experienced the best quest line in all of Warcraft.
- Secondly, do all of the Kalu’ak reputation quests in Howling Fjord, Borean Tundra, and Dragonblight. Once you complete those and do a couple rounds of dailies, you’ll be at revered, meaning you have a nice new breastplate or two waiting at 76 and a new 2-handed weapon waiting at 78.
- Thirdly, once you hit level 77, head to Krasus’ Landing and take the free taxi to the Argent Tournament. The sooner you start on the dailies, the sooner you can start earning Champion’s Seals, which should provide you with some nice weapon and armor upgrades once you hit 80.

So you all know about the elite dr00ds which u can summon if ur alliance in AV ite? well they all stand north of the Dun Baldar North bunker… down a little ally-way part standing round a stone… whats great about these is they attack any horde… including pets …
anyways when defending (as alliance only) i found a way of getting dr00ds to start fighting… they will keep fighting till they have either been killed OR no more hordes to kill, but since most horde and allys fight at the bridge they shouldnt run out of hordes to fight…
so to get them after the horde just wait for a DK ghoul… hunters pet etc etc to follow u… then run there pet to the Dr00ds the elites will kill it then run after the hunter whom hopefully will be standing next to more hordes… and as they stay in combat untill killed or nothing to kill (the cast aoe roots… so they do acctually keep themselves in combat) and thats about it really just a additional abit of help if you are defending

In alterac Valley battleground there is a NPC Night elf end tauren on alliance and horde side.
They were in the past (and still) the druids that wish to summon the forest/ice lord.
In order for them to summon these lords, they need a quantity of orbs and blood – you can get these items off killing players in Alterac Valley.
5 blood for example can be turned in for 75 Reputation with Orgrimmar.
So what you do is, you follow the maingroup into AV, you let others kill alliance/horde and you loot them for Armor scraps and blood/orbs as they die. When you gathered 50 to 100 blood/orbs in a few minutes (drops 8 to 15 at a time ever 2 kills), you use your insignia if you have it and warp to your base. Go to the druid, turning in the 100 blood will easily get you 1500 reputation.
Be careful to turn the items in before the game ends, and turn them in as soon as possible because the NPCs only take a certain ammount. If other players turned in too many already you won’t be able to.
I raised my orgrimmar reputation to exalted doing this while I was farming experience points in Alterac Valley. I hope this helps to make the AV grind even more useful.
+ You get the looter achievement while your on it

Before attempting to shoot for several of these achievements, it is strongly advised that you have the following:
- AV Preform Enabler installed and ready to go
- A group of 10-15 friends
- Several hours to kill
I won’t go into much detail about the AV Enabler. Veteran BG players understand why it’s useful and nearly a requirement in most preforms. There is no exception especially when it comes to AV.
Loyal Defender
This Achievement involves you killing 50 players while defending your general. It’s either going to be Drek or Vann depending on your faction. If you happen to join an AV in progress where you are losing, then it’s the perfect time for you and your crew to make their stand. Ideally, your defense will involve a couple of Death Knights. Have them Scorpion any unsuspecting Horde (or Alliance) players in.
As DPS, strafe in and out of sight as much as possible. Sneak out and try to bait players in, but take care not to get yourself caught outside. Death Grip from Death Knights work both ways.
Line of sight everything as much as possible. There are two columns in the back of Vann’s room which I’ve found perfect for the job. I’d be able to partially conceal myself behind it and still heal players around me. There’s probably something similar in Drek’s room as well.
The most important thing here is to don’t ever release. If you’re lucky, opposing faction members won’t loot your corpse allowing the healers behind you to pick you up manually.
I was able to get this achievement in about 3 minutes after dying and doing the run of shame back into Vann’s room.
Now make like Braveheart and hold!

If you switch the AV trinket to another trinket while casting “Recall” It won’t go on Cool down more then the 30seconds it takes when you equip it. Thought this might be useful for people collecting Rams/Wolfs or just desperately trying to defend their base.
Haven’t had time to test it fully yet since we just won a few seconds after i did it but it seemed to work then.
Just tested this some more and the AV trinket it works on but not on Transporters (atleast not the Gadgetzan one)
