WoW Quest: Insurrection

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Quest Guide

Arm 3 Dragonmaw Workers or Merchants, then slay 10 Dragonmaw Enforcers and 4 Dragonmaw Warlocks.

Description

The weapons the Horde has supplied us with will be more than enough. The four of us should split up and arm as many Dragonmaw workers and merchants as we can.

Don’t underestimate us, <name>. You’ll find even our tradesmen are ferocious in battle.

Let’s do as much damage as possible. Arm a squad of Dragonmaw and lay waste to the fel enforcers and warlocks that have intimidated my people for so long. Then meet back here to launch our final strike!

WoW Quest: If The Key Fits

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Quest Guide

Lead squad from Highbank to the closed Dragonmaw Gate.

If you lose your squad, return to Master Mathias Shaw for reassignment.

Description

The wyrms have already taken the battle to the sky above Grim Batol. It’s up to us to move our men in by ground and secure the gates.

I want you to know what is at stake here, <class>. Grim Batol is the source of Twilight’s Hammer reinforcements to all of the highlands. If we do not cut them off here, we will not win the battles ahead.

I’m sending a squad from Highbank with you. Get to the gate to the southeast and get it open. Your lieutenant should have any further instructions you’ll need from there.

WoW Quest: How to Maim Your Dragon

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Quest Guide

Lure in a Baited Black Drake, attack it until it is weak, and then ride it back to Bloodgulch.

Description

<You sling the gore-spattered gryphon corpse over your shoulder, its wings dragging to the ground.>

<Highland Black Drakes roost just southwest of the Crucible of Carnage, along a ring of low mountain peaks.>

<If you drop the gryphon corpse there, a drake is sure to start feeding. With its guard down, you should be able to attack it until it is weak enough to mount and fly.>

Assumedly — hopefully — we’re a week away from the release of patch 4.1, and with it all the various tweaks to our beloved tanking spec. Some are buffs, some are nerfs (including one fat nerf to Word of Glory), and the others are changes of various import that’ll have some subtle but important effects on our tanking.

The troll hunt will be on, but before you queue for that first Zul’Gurub or Zul’Aman 5-man, you’ll want to get your house in order. I’ll give you the ins and outs of 4.1, what it means for us in terms of every little affected facet, and how to cope with the hardballs that Blizzard tosses at us, so you can hit the ground running with hardly a stumble.

WoW Quest: Hook ‘em High

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Quest Guide

Use the Barbed Fleshook to dismount and kill 4 Thundermar Gryphon Riders.

Description

The Wildhammer can train war gryphons faster than we can subvert and control drakes. We can’t let them continue to outnumber us!

Hunt gryphon riders flying over the river north of Bloodgulch. Take this hook and fling it at them as they fly by. Their momentum will hurl them from their mount, right to your feet. Kill the dismounted gryphon riders!

Looking to bridge the gap between heroic dungeons and raids? The new item drops from the updated Zul’Aman and Zul’Gurub ought to help with that! Obviously, these items aren’t meant to be the best items in this tier, but if you want to reach for the gear ceiling in preparation for patch 4.2, you’d best have an idea of what the trolls are keeping away from you. For me, the big ticket items are things like rings, wands, off hands, bracers and select weapons.

I know the places look the same, but other than looks, the encounters have been updated. I’m psyched to tackle trolls again. It has been a while since we had trolls to sink our weapons in.

After the jump, we’ll examine all the items available.

WoW Quest: Fury Unbound

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Quest Guide

Travel to the Gullet and speak with Zaela. Kill Torth.

Description

Narkrall’s drake Torth survived the failed attack on Thundermar, and now the creature is free from his former master.

Torth seeks vengeance against the Dragonmaw, and has already strafed Bloodgulch once. He will keep returning until we skewer him for good. It is time to put the Demon Chain to work.

Torth’s old nest is a small cave in the hills west of here that we have turned into a small camp called “The Gullet.”

Meet me at the Gullet and we will finish Torth off.

So when the patch does hit, whenever that may be, what are you going to do first? You know, besides go hunting for warlocks to stuff and mount on your wall? I find it’s good to have a plan when new content drops. Otherwise, I just end up only hunting warlocks, which — while awesome — doesn’t really involve any of the new content.

So what to do? Fear not, I’ve compiled a handy list of the new features that apply directly to mages so you’ll have something to channel your arcane energies toward once all the warlocks are dead.

WoW Warrior Guide: Zul’Gearup

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Instance, WoW Warrior Guides

The first thing to consider is how this gear is going to interact with our various spec changes. Protection isn’t going to value hit or expertise any more than it does now — but with Fury’s Precision adding 40% damage from white hits, hit just got even better for fury, and with Fury’s mastery dropping from 8 to 2 before gear, stacking hit (and getting more white hits with its added 40% damage) just became even more attractive for fury. Meanwhile, mastery will work better with arms than before (roughly 10% better, in fact). That all aside, let’s start looking at some gear.

Keep in mind this is gear that will either fill a hole that your average raider just hasn’t managed to get a drop for yet or that a non-raiding player will use to upgrade his or her blues. Some pieces are surprisingly competitive with raiding epics.

WoW Quest: Following the Young Home

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Quest Guide

Use the Mother’s Flame on Obsidian Eggs to release whelps. Follow those hatchlings to the lair of their mother.

Description

In the southwestern portion of the Obsidian Forest, you will find some of the black egg clutches. Many of the eggs can be hatched at any time with a bit of prodding from the right flame, and as the whelplings hatch, they will cry out and flock for their mother.

Do not worry, if this purging is to be taken to the whelps, that is not a task that I will force on you. I simply want you to let them out and follow them home as they seek their mother. It is she who we must confront.
