This installment will review my Discipline spec, which is NOT a cookie-cutter build.

Step 1:

To start, plug in those mandatory 14 points:

*PvEers: If you are 100% certain that another Priest in your raid will have Imp:Fort, and not mind buffing, and you REALLY feel the need for threat reduction, you can move these two points into Silent Resolve. I don’t think it’s worth it, but it is an option.

**PvPers: Choose Martyrdom rather than Imp:Fort.

Step 2:

Decide whether this is a Holy build, or a Discipline build. For this example, I’ll walk you through my Disc spec and my reasons for each point. This will be a bit different: because I usually raid Holy, my Holy build is very utilitarian. My Disc build, on the other hand, is specifically for General Vezax Hardmode – the only 25-man fight where I use it. (I do use it in 10 man content for things like Iron Council hardmode, but due to gearing levels, the spec doesn’t need to be perfect to handle the fight.)

Step 3:

Because this is a Disc build, and Disc builds focus on single target or tank healing, after plugging in the mandatory points in the Disc tree, we should flip over to Holy, since we KNOW that we will want Inspiration, and get those points out of the way. This will give a better idea of how many points we have to work with when we are making either-or decisions deep in the Disc tree itself.

The first step is to max out Holy Specialization – I do this in Holy to allow more Haste on my gear, but in Discipline because of how Crit is heavily favored by deeper Discipline talents. Next, because I personally use Renew rather heavily to even out spiking tank damage, I max out Improved Renew.

Table of contents
1 Talents
1.1 Stats
2 Rotations and Ability Usage.
2.1 Unholy Rotation
2.2 Blood Rotation
3 Consumables
4. Sigils
5. Macros
6. Add-ons

Talents:

I will be covering the following two specs, and these are the specs our Death Knights primarily use.
Unholy 12/0/59 Glyphs are: Scourge Strike, the Ghoul, Dark Death
Blood 51/2/18 Glyphs are: Rune Dancing Weapon, Death Strike, Dark Death

Stats:

Expertise: 6,5% or 26 expertise needed for dodge cap – Different specs gain the following expertise:
Blood 6 – Frost 5 – Unholy 5 (these do show in character sheet)
Hit Rating: 8% is hit cap for special and 2H attacks.
Spell hit cap is 17% – 3% for misery -3% for Virulence = 11% needed. Only a few skills of ours use spell hit cap, Icy Touch, Death Coil, Unholy Blight, Howling Blast AND Mind Freeze. Remember that spell hit cap is on a different conversion ratio than melee hit (check your spell tab in character screen). You will be very close to spell hit cap at 8% melee hit (with virulence).

What stats should I go for?

Strength has been our best stat by far for a long time – and it still is.
With that being said, Armor Penetration for Blood spec, is at least as good as strength – if not better.
When blood specced, aim for the hit/expertise cap, to ease your rotation without dodge/misses. Unlike Unholy you don’t always have that much time in-between a rotation.
I will just leave it at that for now.

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Battleground, WoW Tricks, WoW Video Guide

I noticed some allys running behind our keep. I followed them and noticed they were climbing the mountain behind the Horde keep and jumped into our base.

This is how you do it:

[Warlock] Open door to HoS End Boss

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Instance, WoW Tricks, WoW Warlock Guides

1. Enter Halls of Stone
2. Summon your Eye of Kilrogg
3. Move forward (the eye) until you can target the End Boss with /target Sj
4. Dismiss your Eye of Kilrogg, this “taunts” him and puts you in combat
5. Leave the Instance and re-enter

After a few seconds Sjonnir respawns but with his door open and Brann Bronzebeard in position.

Useful if you want to finish your daily heroic quest for him quick or if u just want to farm some gear for your alts without doing the whole instance.

Works on both heroic and normal difficulty.

Should work with the Crashin’ Thrashin’ Racer too.

Vision Dust! Fast & Easy Gold!

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Gold Guides, WoW Professions

This is a method I use to use A LONG TIME AGO, but today while leveling enchanting/tailoring on my alt I found that it still works amazingly well.

What is it?

The method I am talking about is making and then DE’ing (I know “common sense”) , but let me explain.

You are making White Bandit Mask from tailoring, you can’t just train this recipe it is a world drop and can be hard to fine but I was lucky enough to buy it off AH for 10g:
Pattern: White Bandit Mask – Item – World of Warcraft

The raw matts:
4 Mageweave Cloth
1 Bleach
1 Heavy Silken Thread

The Profit?

This DE’s into a lot of Vision Dust (1-5 per DE), and Vision Dust on my server sells for 1g+ each and has a dead market. I managed to sell over 10 stacks for 23g each in one day!

This also DE’s into:
1-2 Nether Essence
1 Small radiant shard

1 Stack of Mageweave = 5 Bolts of mageweave = 5 White Bandit Masks = 1-5 Vision Dust, 1-2 Nether Essence, 1 Small radiant shard = PROFIT

Complete RAF Levelling Guide [Updated for WOTLK]

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Leveling Guides

Recruit-a-Friend is being used by a great many people right now, but few are truly doing it in the most efficient way possible. This is a guide to being incredibly efficient when it comes to using Recruit-a-Friend, and is how I got to Level 59 in 8 hours 53 minutes on two characters, using an 80, or in 18 hours on four different characters using a 70.

This guide is for Horde for the most part, however if you’re an alliance character you should get use out of mostly everything with the exception of the RFC part.

What’s Needed?
Two accounts, and either a friend who is 70+ or a third 70+ account to help you out. I have used my warrior to run myself through instances until 60, and the second time I levelled a “batch” of characters I had a friend of mine use his mage. Recently I used an 80 Death Knight to run myself through instances and I managed to hit 60 in 8 hours and 53 minutes.

How do I get started?
Go to the World of Warcraft website and log into the account that you want to be the primary account – if you’re levelling by having a 70 friend run you through then whatever account you have will work. Since this account will have two level 60+ characters on it from the Recruit a Friend process, it’s best if it’s upgraded to Burning Crusade, and your main account (so that you don’t have to transfer the characters). RAF is NOT an exploit, it’s NOT bannable, and completely safe.

Once you’re there, choose Recruit-A-Friend. Create a new email account, or use an existing one and follow the instructions. If you want to eventually transfer your second account’s toons onto your main account, use your real information, or the same information on the main one, so you can transfer from account to account. Blizzard has already stated that although people double boxing RAF accounts isn’t their intention, it’s perfectly fine. You have to upgrade the recruited account to a normal copy of WoW to continue to 59. This costs $20, you get a free month of Warcraft for upgrading, so you don’t have to worry about spending the $15, and if you level fast you can finish using the account by the time the free month is up.

Double Boxing / Triple Boxing
If you have the computer to handle it, then you can triple box your characters and run yourself through instances while double boxing. If you don’t, then don’t bother. The main thing that you want to do to make your double boxing experience all the more simple (without using any programs) would be to open both instances of WoW in windowed mode and set up a couple macros for the secondary account and one for the primary account. I was levelling priest/hunter which isn’t the best of setups, but until level 8 came around, I was controlling the hunter and using macros to do damage on the priest, just a couple very easy macros that I could get to quickly if needed, and that would make 1-8 a lot easier.

/follow Hunter
/assist Hunter
/cast Smite(Rank 1)

and

/follow hunter
/tar Hunter
/cast Lesser Heal(Rank 1)

Obviously macros are not required, and they can even slow you down if you’re more familiar with only running one copy of WoW at a time, however if you have both open in windowed mode you can get your timing down so you level twice as fast, making use of the macros. Just replace “Hunter” with your primary character’s name and go from there.

Freya Trash farming 3.2

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Boss Guides, WoW Gold Guides

3.2 gave me/us the cash machine, i reckognized a little late, that you just need to extend a ulduar ID where the cat lady is dead and freya is still alive and extend it again and again and again …

i took the id with my rogue (which is THE class for farming freyas trash) and am now able to farm her 4 more days each week

http://www.gilbaron.eu/freyatrash.jpg
http://www.gilbaron.eu/freyatrash2.jpg

this maps can be used for all non-steathers for ultimate profit

i made the map. Ive made red dots of where there should be a herb spawn. and simply marked out my route. you will also notice there is 2 crosses. those are herbs spawns only availble if you are willing to die. simply stealth up wait for the drake in the pack to get away and start picking.. a higher latency can make this easier. upon request i can edit the map and put in places where patrols walk.

The mob has 265k health and is immune to fear so when I was doing this as a Shadow Priest, it was impossible for me to solo. I also didn’t want to sit around for hours waiting to get 3-5 people to do this so I decided to explore other alternatives.

HOWEVER, if you refer to this handy map, you can see that there is a nice pretty mountain west of Galakrond’s Rest. With some simple maneuvering you can get up quite high on the mountain. Once you get there, wait for Sarasthra to patrol by. When she does, tag her with an instant cast spell because she will not be in attacking range for very long. As a Shadow Priest I used SW:P to grab her but anything else will work fine (Curse of Agony, Fire Blast, whatever). It will be handy to have talents that increase range

She will aggro and swoop down on you but she will not attack. So while she is staring blankly at you, you can just kill her normally with whatever you want as long as it is a ranged weapon. Sadly it seems that she is just out of reach with melee (even jumping and attacking does not work )

Sorry for the wall of text on how to solo just a measly quest but I figured there would be somebody out there that might want to do this.

On second thought, even if you completed this quest you can go and use her to level up your weapon skill (for example, if you were a hunter that switched from bow to gun and want to skill up weapon without running around Northrend shooting stuff).

Here’s proof

Flame Leviathan Bike Trick

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Boss Guides, WoW Tricks

My guild and I are fairly new in ulduar and aren’t geared very well. We discovered the trick after a few fails.

1. Have a higher item leveled person (better gear) jump into the bike.
2. Have that person jump into the passenger seat with the bike icon.
3. Have a lower item level person jump into the driver’s seat and launch the passenger out by pressing 4.

This leaves the bike with the first person’s item stats. Very helpful if your guild is new or lower item level. Also, for those who think its possibly a display bug, please check % as fight progresses.
