Ensidia’s Guide to Iron Council

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Boss Guides, WoW Raiding Guides

Written by mek

Introduction

This is the first hardmode where the difficulty starts to take a step up. This fight requires good coordination and execution while keeping your boss damage extremely high. The strategy I am going to be recommending is the kill order Small -> Medium -> Large. There are people that do not believe that this is the best order but it will be illustrated exactly why this is the best. There are many strategies out there and most of them seem inefficient and overly complicated, we have always done this exactly the same way and it works well. The most difficult part of the fight is understanding how to keep your tanks alive when dealing with the Fusion Punch and there will be details on exactly how to manage that here.

Abilites

Not all of the possible abilities are going to be listed here, only the ones that occur if you do the fight in the particular order for this guide. Just for the sake of saying it, all of the Council have the same 10 million hit points despite their size.

Supercharge – This is an ability that applies to all 3 mobs. When one of them dies the other(s) will gain a 25% damage bonus and an additional ability. This means that when two are dead the last member will gain a 50% increase.

-Steelbreaker (large)-

Fusion Punch – This is a huge 35k nature damage hit that places a DoT on the target for 4 seconds that does an addional 20k damage every 1 second. The DoT is however dispellable.
High Voltage – Aura that does 3k damage to your entire raid every 3 seconds
Static Disruption – This ability only occurs after the Small mob has been killed. Targeted AoE that does 7k damage to all players within 6 yards of the targeted player. Will not target people in melee if ranged are available. It also places a stacking debuff that increases Nature damage by 75% for 20 seconds.
Overwhelming Power – Only occurs when Steelbreaker is the last one standing. Targets the current highest threat player and causes them to deal 200% more damage but at the end of the 30 second duration the player will gain Meltdown (see below).
Meltdown – Once Overwhelming Power completes casting, the player is killed and deals 30k damage to anyone standing nearby. You cannot stop this player from dying.
Electrical Charge – If someone in your raid dies when Steelbreaker is the only mob remaining then he will heal for 15% of his health and gain 25% damage (stacks). The healing effect can be reduced with healing debuffs such as Mortal Strike.

Ensidia’s Guide to Razorscale

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Boss Guides, WoW Raiding Guides

Written by mek

Introduction

So this is going to be one of the shorter guides. Defeating Razorscale on standard difficulty should not be a challenge for any guild attempting the complete Glory of the Raider, so to save a bit of time the basics will be omitted.

The aim here is to complete Iron Dwarf, Medium Rare. This is the achievement that requires you to kill mobs using the breath cast by Razorscale herself. The first thing to be mentioned is that you can wipe as many times as you want and the number of dwarves you have killed will not reset. As a result the difficulty level is not that high but it’s very time consuming. It will be shown here how you can hopefully reduce the amount of time this will take you and do it smoothly.

Preparation and Positioning

-Preparation-

There are a couple of user interface components that are important for this achievement. The first is that you should make sure that you can see the exact hit points of the mobs. This is because you are going to be killing them with the breath of Razorscale which does a set amount of damage. The mobs need to be dps’d to below a certain amount to make sure that the breath will kill them. The second useful addition is an addon such as BigWigs Bossmods. This will give you the exact timer on when she is stunned, the breath is cast directly after the stun is completed so you will know exactly when to have the mobs in position and at the correct health.

-Raid Setup-

You should be using a fairly standard raid setup. You do still need to kill off all the Watcher and Sentinel mobs that will spawn so your DPS don’t just sit in the back and do nothing. You don’t need a huge amount of tanks, the mobs do not hit very hard so 3 will do just fine. It’s the same with the healing, if you want to be safe use 6 or 7 but the healing still will not be intense compared to the more challenging hardmodes. Very standard stuff here.

Ensidia’s Guide to Freya

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Boss Guides, WoW Raiding Guides

Written by mek

Introduction

This is one of the most challenging hardmodes in Ulduar, only Mimiron will provide a harder fight. A few of the more annoying elements have been nurfed however, this removed some of the more RNG elements of the encounter but the concepts all still remain the same. The first thing to notice is that there are three Ancients in her room (big tree things!), each of this grants her additional buffs and abilities. The fight in this guide is based on leaving all 3 of these Ancients alive so when you first go into the room do not kill any of them because you cannot take it back. If at anypoint you feel you are stuggling too much kill Elder Stonebark, that will remove the ground Tremor and make the fight a lot easier. One part of the fight that needs to be cleared up is that Freya has a permanent HoT on her all the time and the power of this HoT is reduced by killing her adds, do not waste time damaging her until you have completed all 6 add phases.

Abilities

Freya:
Ground Tremor – This is a high damage AoE Physical damage spell that hits everyone in the raid once the cast is completed (2 sec cast). It does around 15k damage and interrupts spellcasting, silencing you on that school of magic.
Strengthened Iron Roots – Roots 3 players in place and deals damage to them for 6k every 2 seconds. You can kill these quite quickly, they have about 45k hp.
Eonar’s Gift – She casts a tree randomly in the fight area that slowly grows, once it’s fullsize it will heal Freya and all adds for a lot. You should allow them the heal, kill them fast! They have around 65k hp.
Sunbeam – Casts a beam of light on a target that does around 9k damage to anyone standing in that spot (1.5 sec cast). It also can leave a patch of light on the ground called Unstable Energy, this does 7k per tick of damage if you stand in it.
Nature Bomb – These are green bombs on the ground that spawn at the end of the fight, they do AoE damage for about 6.5k each (seems to vary quite a lot)

This is a guide which uses an exploit to farm Elementium Ore

This method involves a small amount of preperation and exploiting trash mobs, we will be killing different and multiple mobs, this method allows for:

* Much higher chances of Elementium ore dropping (wowhead reports 15% per mob that can be reset instantly as opposed to the other method’s 3% per mob on a 30 minute reset timer).
* The enemies we are killing come in a pack, meaning chances of getting ore and the speed at which ore is obtained is increased yet again.

However this method is harder, it involves a larger risk factor and may be gear and skill dependant, this won’t be easy however if you can do this method it should be more rewarding.

Why should I farm Elementium ?

Elementium is a material needed to craft the Legendary Thunderfury, it is only obtainable by killing BlackWing Techcians – about 15% chance (which we will solo) and a named goblin that respawns every soft reset called Master Elemental Shaper Krixix – about 3% chance (which you can solo with the other guide linked above).

Elementium sells high to those crafting Thunderfury, if you can put it into bar form, this can be sold for 1000g a bar, which consists of one Elementium ore, a Fiery Core, 10 Arcanite Bars and 45g worth of vendor items. You can usually transmute an Arcane Crystal and one Thorium bar to an arcanite bar for much cheaper crafting, I usually spend about 230g to craft a bar however I find these sell much easier and better than the ores which fetch about 400g.

The Method

We will be farming groups of BlackWing Techcians: Blackwing Technician – NPC – World of Warcraft

Firstly, you need to have completed BlackWingLair UP TO Firemaw, this means NOT killing him; the idea is to arrange a bad raid and wipe / disband on firemaw before your raid can kill the trash mobs after the third boss.

Get Arctic fur easy

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Gold Guides, WoW Tricks

For the darkmoon faire festival a vendor sells 5 arctic furs a day at MOST and 3 atleast. i cannot conform this number exactly because i only got it the vendor parts of the day in Mulgor (Lhara), it seems that she sells them at around the same time every day. however i only payed attentions and started noticing this today, one of those times is just before 1am.

BTW they are on the AH for 60g and you can get them from the vendor for 12g. This is a rare drop and going back at the specific time she sells them every day saved you hours of farming for them yourself.

Times: around 1am, around 12:30pm

plz note i said around… not exactly the same the vendor respawns stuff every 5-10min.

Damage Control – Achievement – World of Warcraft

I was on my hunter leveling with a friend and boom i got the achievement Damage Control

i had been leveling in EPL for a few hours, this may be because the zone itself is considered a “world pvp battleground”

might be helpful if you run recount and see when you hit 300,000
try also killing an opposing faction and then reset the meter and look after you gain 300,000 after you kill the Player
keep in mind this says a single battleground, meaning you cant log out! disconnect, ect ect, let me know what you guys find

Fast Leveling from 53+

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Leveling Guides, WoW Tricks

I was on vent with my friends and some guy told he was levelling his hunter on 53 in Howling Fjord, So I watched how he did it, and it works.

I can confirm this work from 53 and higher, For alliance, You can find a way for your horde to do it probably, And I don’t know if it works for lower level.

So here is how it goes for Alliance:

1. Take zeppelin to Valgarde.
2. Once at valgarde, Aggro any mob at the gate by using a ranged spell.
3. Run back and the guards will kill it.
4. Free 1 / 2k xp.

Cool wolf costume (All classes, 70+)

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Professions

I want to tell you how to -and to- get a (in my opinion) really cool wolf costume on your level 70+ character.
I have done my best to try and make this thread as informative as possible, and I hope you like it.

For the rich who want this costume fast, you will need:
1 free bag slot
level 70 or higher
money

The not so rich or cheap will possibly need:
A scribe friend (someone with Inscription)
level 70 or higher
Time

Scribes (also the scribe friend above) will need:
Technique: Rituals of the New Moon. This is a Grizzly Hills drop from Silverbrook (27,33). It drops from Silverbrook Trappers, Villagers, Defenders in this village. I will explain later on how to get to kill these. (It also drops from another type of mob with a far lower drop chance, it’s the bottom one in the link, but it is not in Silverbrook and therefore I will not list it here – read on if you want to know)
skill 350
possibly level 74 or higher due to questline needed to kill mobs

What this is, is an offhand weapon called Rituals of the New Moon, which, when used, transforms you into a giant wolf. There are several versions of this offhand that each have their own special wolf color. (2 min transformation, 10 min cooldown)
Link: Rituals of the New Moon. This is a link to a wowhead search of the item. You can hover your mouse over the item links to see a tooltip showing the different colors (Black, Grey, Red, White).
The wolf is very similiar to the shaman Ghost Wolf, except it is not a transparent ghost. Therefore, shamans may find this item useless

[Arena] Way to camp in Dalaran pipe

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Arena Guide, WoW Exploits

earlier today some of my friends and I were bored out of our minds, so we decided to make an arena team (we dont pvp), so we have no resillience gear.

Were getting owned by the same team over and over again (was late at night so not many people were arenaing) so, knowing that we would lose anyway,
I turned around and put Auto run on into the back of the dal pipe, and went to make a cup of coffee, when i got back my arena team was dead, but i was still alive.

So i waited it out and got the free arena points/rating, i tried replicating it again, and it worked for my whole team.

Here is a picture of the spot you have to run into, to check if you are in the right place, just try jumping, if you cant then you should be fine.
