Ulduar Raiding Guide: Flame Leviathan

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Boss Guides, WoW Raiding Guides

by Michael Gray

There’s a little extra to cover with Leviathan, because of the fight’s unique vehicle dynamic. Today will be focused exclusively on this fight. It’s not because the fight is so difficult, but because your method for fighting it has absolutely nothing to do with the class you play. You get to learn entirely new stuff for this fight.

Understand your new vehicles

When you first enter Ulduar, you’ll come down a long stairway toward one of the most fun encounters I’ve ever seen. When someone talks to the Lore Keeper of Norgannon in the middle, the vehicles that will be central to the first few stages of Ulduar will instantly become available for use. There’s gonna be Salvaged Choppers, Salvaged Demolishers, and Salvaged Siege Engines. These three vehicles look like the machines you probably already know from Wintergrasp, but their functions are obviously a little different. (Of course, there are no Wintergrasp choppers.)

The first thing you should know about these vehicles is that their health scales with your gear’s iLevel. That means that for each gear slot, you want to be wearing the highest iLevel item available to you, regardless of your spec. Your actual base stats don’t affect how your vehicle performs. Your vehicle’s stats (last time) are based entirely on your iLevel.

So, what do these vehicles actually do? The Salvaged Chopper has a sonic power attack (sonic boom!), tar, and speed boost. The Salvaged Demolisher hurls boulders, barrels, and people, while its gunner uses rockets and a crate-fetching hook, and can load himself into a catapult seat. The Salvaged Siege Engine rams stuff, issues electric shocks, and charges, while its turret controller uses more rockets, fires cannons, and can put up shields.

Now, this is not a chronological list, it just lists some options you can use to gear up, and how they rank compared to eachother. I’m assuming you have no arena rating or points.

Crafted Gear
The most basic gear here is the Eviscerator’s Battlegear set. This is an eight-piece set with no sockets and a total of 350 resilience. However it’s got a fair amount of stamina and it’s not that expensive to get either. So buy the mats, find a leatherworker, give mats and tip, collect gear.

You can also supplement this set with some crafted jewelcrafting stuff (Emerald Choker, Scarlet Signet and Savage Titanium Ring or Titanium Impact Choker and Titanium Impact Band if you have more money to spend) and a crafted cape, the Frostguard Drape.

Rogue Arena Startup help

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Arena Guide, WoW Rogue Guides

I myself play rogue since wow release, went to about 1,7k rating in recent season with only blue gear (don’t raid much)

This is a Guide for those who want to start with the arena as a rogue
you might be able to find all of this information elsewhere but i summed it up for you and gave some of my own input so that you can save some time looking trough the net. The information provided here is to get you started fast and easy without breeding over thousand possibilites. That means if you’re interested and want more it might be worth checking some links at the end of this post.
If something is unclear or you see an error please reply in this thread.

First the spec:
The golden rule normaly is that you play according to the weapons you posses but that mostly counts only for pve. In wotlk the dominating build is multilate and that means daggers. Hemo is death as is Shadowstep. If you can’t or don’t want to use daggers you’re only good choice is combat. Still depending on your team setup and your own playstyle it might be best to deposit those epic swords in your bank and get your blue daggers out for multilate (thats what i did in this season after facing to many rogues as double dd)

Multilate 41:5:21
the standard -max control, really fun

[Guide] Herb Farming

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Gold Guides, WoW Professions

Storm Peaks Herbalism:
Requirements:
78+
Atleast 60% Flying + CWF

Now this is what I did alot, earns verry well if there are alot of players from your faction on your realm and you can level Alchemy quick (Wich earns good itself 2)

Now you could use this addon:
Cartographer

After youve downloaded and installed the AddOn into WoW you login and fly to Storm Peaks.

Now you have 2 choices. If you have a 60% flying or you are just lower lvl Choose farm map 1.

If you are 80 AND have a 280% flying mount you should choose for map 2.
Because not all herbs are respawned if you use road 1 with 280%

I found out a few simple tactics to help you win if you decide to get a warrior teammate or a hunter teammate (This only works if you are the opposite A.K.A you have to be a hunter and he/she has to be a warrior or vice versa…)
TIPS FOR WARRIOR OR HUNTER
1:The hunter is mainly used as the bait! Coming from a /played time of 233 days, I’ve noticed that in arena in Pre WoTLK most of the time hunters would never get attacked, they would only get CC’d. Now that people have found out that the hunters are whats really screwing them over, they are getting killed first most likely.

2:The warrior is pretty much assisting the hunter take down the healer or clothie. (If there is no clothie or healer then you attack the one he attacks.)If a healer is getting piled by a Surv/AimShot hunter and an MS warrior there is no way the healer will survive to long!

3:Make sure that the hunter uses frost trap IMMEDIATELY!! Remember a trinket can’t help when its an AOE snare or AOE immobilization effect! (HoF or Hand of Freedom is the only thing that can free this Including Bubble ^_^)

4:The warrior must use Rend + Hamstring as soon as you attack the target the hunter attacks or the hunter tells you to attack! Slowing down your enemy can confuse and make his reaction time a bit slower. (This can also cause your opponent to Bubble, Trinket or waste CD’s that he shouldn’t waste.) You want to rend because this will keep the opponent in combat for an extra few seconds and will cause him/her to be unable to use Bandages until the rend is finished proccing.

[Guide][Achievement] Volazj’s Quick Demise

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Achievements

Volazj’s Quick Demise is an Achievement that requires you to kill the last boss of Ahn’kahet: The Old Kingdom within 2 minutes.
The main difficulty factor is his spell “Insanity”, which is cast at 66% and 33% and has every player fight “evil clones” of all the other group members.

This strategy basically removes the difficulty that is Insanity and makes for an easy and relaxed speed kill.

What you need:

  1. 1. Good DPS
  2. 2. A Warlock (any spec will do)

What helps:

  1. A shaman

Priest-Rogue Arena Guide

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Arena Guide, WoW Priest Guides, WoW Rogue Guides

The tactics honestly need the rogue to be awake and know when to Line of Sight / Crowd Control / deal damage, practice helps. I get tired of trying to help boost other rogues that think they can faceroll on top of the warrior till there’s a win. Enough though, let’s start some strategy talk.

Talent specialisation may vary, but rogue is mutilate and priest discipline, point distribution doesn’t make or break these fights, so use what you find best for you. As far gear goes rogue should be using a darkmoon card: death or the equivalent proc trinket from naxx, sit around 3,4k attack power, priest can do with 1850 unbuffed spellpower and it’s good to have 20.000 health points and 15.0000 mana, so you’re not lacking stats. Resilience isn’t key to winning so rogue can go lower then 400 and priest around 800, though I’ve never tried it lower then 900 (don’t gem for 2v2, but it would help too).

Laying down the law upon druid/warrior (4/10):
Starting out we sap on the warrior: 1) He berserker rages out and we wait some seconds and start on the druid, fear the warrior so he has to trinket it for helping his druid. This is an attempt to force trinket on the warrior, don’t force yourself upon the druid, but you can hope he dies. 2) Warrior sits in the sap, I run in dispelling the warrior and force myself in between druid and war to mana burn/push druid back. After sap runs out I turn around and send in MB, HF and SWD on war while he’s stun locked fully (consider staying at LoS objects, not sitting in open when pushing the druid away).

AFK yourself to Time-Lost Proto Drake

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Achievements, WoW Free Guides

I recently got my Time-Lost Proto Drake (Pic: http://i42.tinypic.com/28bgspf.jpg) and I thought I’d share with you the method I used to get it. It’s easy and requires no work but just takes time.

First off some information. Time-Lost Proto Drake is one of three spawns in Storm Peaks. The other two are Vyragosa and Dirkee. Vyragosa is a blue dragon and Dirkee is a mechagnome. Dirkee has NOTHING whatsoever to do with the TLPD! Vyragosa on the other hand has a lot to do with him.
TLPD and Vyragosa share the same spawnpoints and flightpaths. They have 4 different paths/spawnpoints. From what is known TLPD is a rare spawn of a rare spawn. What this means is, every time Vyragosa is spawning, there is a small chance that TLPD will spawn instead of Vyragosa. The spawntime is believed to be from 6-12 hours since one of them was last killed. This means that after Vyra or TLPD has been killed none of them will spawn in 6 hours, and then during the next 6 hours one of them will spawn, but when it will spawn in those 6 hours is totally random. If you’re unlucky you will see a lot of Vyragosas spawn instead of TLPD. There isn’t a set ammount of TLPDs spawning in a week, it can be 0 or 10, it’s all about luck. The week I got it it had already spawned 3 times before.

What you need:

1. This addon, NPCScan. Downloaded here: NPCScan : WoWInterface Downloads : Miscellaneous
2. Something else to do besides WoW, watch TV, play video games etc.
3. LOTS of patience.
(4. An autoclicker or something else to keep you from going AFK can be good, but not needed.)

Wintergrasp Exploit

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Battleground, WoW Exploits, WoW PvP Guide

I found this Wintergrasp exploit that people can use if they have stealth. Can use w/o it but risky because of death. Before Wintergrasp start, fly there and make sure you’re not defending but attacking. Run up to one of the walls and keep running in to it. Once the battle starts, your will be inside the wall and can just walk in to destroy the cannons and such. Works wonders for me and thought i would share it. This is for retail because private servers dont have working vehicles/wintergrasp

1) Make sure you are attacking team and fly to wintergrasp.
2) Run up to the Wintergrasp Fortress wall.
3) Before it starts, start running into the wall without stopping.
4) Once match starts you’ll be inside wall and can get through on other side.

farming 0-1500 on a 2v2/3v3

Posted by: free-wow-guide   in WoW Arena Guide, WoW PvP Guide, WoW Tricks

The title is pretty much self explanitory, it’s a short and sweet guide on how to 0-1500 Arena team very quickly, and i guess easily? If you’re good ofcourse.. LETS GET TO IT!

2v2 -> 4 People on the team (Online)

Now, it’s been tested by me and some friends, we were trying to “steal” the other 2 players Queue by queuing just as they came out of the arena to get some good laughs, but… They Queued when we did, we both got into the arena and won, and we both put points towards the team!

Basically if you have Lets say… 3v3 (6) People, etc.. and Queue at the same time OR different times, you both put points towards the same team, We haven’t been able to catch a Queue against eachother so I don’t know how that would result in, not completely sure, but i’ve theorycrafted about it for a bit…
