We’ll be covering tanking and DPS weapons of both the one and two handed variety. Not all warriors will be taking Titan’s Grip, after all. Oh, stop looking at me like that, you know it’s true. I stated a fact, I didn’t kick a puppy, you can turn off the big sad eyes now.

Yes, of course I specced fury for leveling. Oh, I’ll go back to prot once we’re all 80 and raiding again, but there was no way I wasn’t going fury. I’ve written ballads about this talent, you think I’m passing up the chance to use it? Oh my word no.

What follows is all pre-raid gear. 5 mans, quests, heroics and badges, but no raids. It’s light on PvP gear, because I figure you know how to get that stuff. (Hint: you PvP for it.) Sometimes I mention it if it feels like a category of weapon will be very empty without it, though. Axes, I’m looking right at you here.

For some of you, your eyes will be on the goals of end game. You’re not going to need as many consumables now as you did before. This represents a change in Blizzard philosophy. Don’t even think about using Mana Oils or Wizard Oils (or stones) as they will not work on items over level 70. Pro tip: Chances are, you’ll be using your present weapons for a while. Might as well use any you have left over for those while you level until you come across a replacement weapon.

This is just a simple guide helping out the fresh 80’s (and rerolls) with getting prepared for raiding as affliction in WotLK. I hope it answers many questions and helps improve some players. Questions are encouraged and if you see something that might be a little off, please let me know.

General Information
Warlocks these days give off the vibe of “Omg we’re a broken class, fix our dps now” etc.. That’s a misconception. Warlocks are a very complicated class and requires precise timing when it comes to throwing up DoTs. The margin of DPS between a good warlock and a decent warlock these days is quite high. An experienced affliction raider can easily toss up 2k dps in a raid whereas someone who’s just starting to raid as affliction is going to have trouble keeping up 15-1600 dps.

All you need to be is 375 JC and be 70+
1. Get a mage to port you to dalaran. Make it your home if you want.
2. Go to the JC trainer(Timothy Jones) and take the quest
3. The quests requires you to kill a mob and fuse it with 2 cheap and simple crystals(I usualy go to wowhead to find the mob)
4. Go back to dalaran and turn it in. You get Dalaran Jewelcrafter’s Token
5. Speak to Tiffany Cartier who is right near Timothy and you can buy Dragon’s Eye from her.
6. Check the AH and post Dragon’s Eye for a reasonable price

Just thought I’d share this is with you all as I find it quite fun to do over and over and it really pisses people off! Need to be Death Knight for this guys.

When you are in AB, go to the Lumber Mill and just wait around for the enemy to try and cap, then run to the edge of the hill and jump down but instantly turn around and death grip them off the edge with you. Make sure that after you jump off the ledge, you are not holding any movement keys. I made a macro for this that yells “GET OVER HERE” as I pull them to there doom.

The skill Master Poisoner is supposed to give you a total of 3% Crit on your target if you have any poison on it.

Master Poisoner Rank 3
Increases the critical hit chance of all attacks made against any target you have poisoned by 3% and reduces the duration of all Poison effects applied to you by 50%.
